So you are about to graduate and you don’t know what to do when you leave CU. What now? Before you stress out about that fearful “rest of your life,” calm down and enjoy an evening or two in the Real World!
CU Real World is a new CU-Boulder Alumni Association program that offers valuable tips for students and young alumni navigating real life situations as they prepare for life after college. University students and young alums who have yet to confront the realities of pursuing their dreams as professionals, have much to learn from those who have walked the line. The four evening sessions - 2 each semester - will feature topics on Interviewing skills, Travel and working abroad, Grad School prep and Managing finances. Each Real World session is interactive and students participate in mock scenarios.
Co-sponsored by CU-Boulder Career Services, CU Real World is free and open to all students and young alumni.
Free pizza and beverages are served.

Want to explore a bit of the world, learn about new cultures and make a difference? How about a stint in the Peace Corps or WorldTeach? John will provide insightful tips and advice for your world adventure from his own experiences traveling and working abroad. He will also share “how to” apply for a position, keep perspective, make a time commitment, stay safe, earn a living abroad and re-enter when you’re ready to return home.Guest Speaker: Peace Corps Alum, John RobertsANDRA WILKINSON (Will Graduate in 2009):
Major: Integrative Physiology

“I am a cheerleader for women traveling solo. I spent three weeks in Colombia after it was named the 10th most dangerous country in the world and was in Bogota a week after two bombings. I told most everyone I was American when it was safe, and am a better human being and woman because of this experience.”
PAUL PUKURDPOL (Graduated in 2008):
“I’ve been to over 35 countries, most of them while I was in
college. I’m 100% an independent traveler. I’m not against study abroad, but I
think you can get a better, more authentic experience on your own. I
advocate traveling as much as you can in college, even if you have to
borrow money, because once you start working in the real world it
becomes much harder to travel.”
