Have a fun and safe time at Folsom Field. Read the stadium guidelines.

One of the CU athletics department interns was on the Cal Football Forums and found some quotes about the Sept. 10 CU vs. Cal game:

“So, after Saturday I have to say that the CU fans are the best in their treatment of visitors. We walked right through the student entrance to Folsom without incident. Everyone we talked to was nice and helpful. I got the feeling CU fans are happy to be in the Pac-12 and showed it before, during and after the game. As for Folsom Field, it is a cool place for college football. It got very loud and the CU students filled their seats and were loud the whole game. All were wearing gold t-shirts so they really stood out. The visitor seats were among the best I’ve sat in.

“Cal fans were there in good numbers and we were vocal. We were in the shade and high enough to see the whole field. They also have big video boards in both end zones. They even had a basic scoreboard on the side of the end zone building so the fans sitting in the most remote section, 101, could easily tell the score and time remaining. The stadium is a gem that really fits the CU campus. Parking was easy and the walk to the stadium was short.

“Ralphie is awesome. Seen him many times on TV, but the live experience is so much more impressive. The best mascot in the conference. Watching that buffalo run out in front of their team and around the stadium is a powerful sight.

“The fans at CU were almost all extremely friendly. I wore my Cal shirt around town and campus on both Friday and Saturday, and was stopped several times by CU fans who welcomed me to Boulder and asked about the Cal team. Immediately after Keenan Allen scored the winning TD, a CU fan sitting in front of me turned around, offered me a handshake and said, “Congratulations on the win.”  I encountered only one case of trash talk, and it was pretty mild as these things go. Pearl Street  on Friday and Saturday nights was a lot of fun. There are plenty of decent restaurants and sports bars.  All in all, it was a great road trip.

“Folsom Field is a beast of a place where CU, much like Cal, plays very tough no matter how highly ranked the opponent. We should be VERY glad to come away from there with a W regardless of the mistakes & issues of execution.”

“Say what you will, but that Ralphie thing is cool. Can’t believe how fast the handlers have to run to keep up with that thing when it’s heading around the track.
I have never, ever seen anything like how the female students dressed for the game – it was some crazy cross between ’70s disco (skin tight gold lamay pants and sequins), roller derby chic, animal head dress couture and what you would expect to see a bunch of extras from a Mad Max movie wearing at the studio commissary.

“It sounds like most Cal fans enjoyed their experience at Folsom which is great to hear.
“Had a great time there norcalbuff. Beautiful campus. Buff fans are courteous but highly spirited. The only complaint is a technical one – can’t believe they couldn’t get the official’s mic to work. Very confusing out there, and your announcer wasn’t very helpful either. Colorado will do great under your new coach. Welcome to the Pac-12!”

“I spoke to at least two dozen Buff fans both before and after the game. They were all great. Several came up to congratulate me on the win. Thrilled to have you guys in the conference.”
