Nate Braden (Bus’03, MBA’05), Veterans Club leader and former Marine, will provide an introduction and exciting updates on Veterans club affairs, followed by a presentation by Greg Akers, CU Office of Veterans Affairs, on the status of the Veterans Club scholarship fund. The keynote speaker will be CU-Boulder Chancellor G.P. “Bud” Peterson, who will address the opportunities available for veterans at the University of Colorado.

The cost for the luncheon is $20 per person.

At our inaugural meeting in February, we presented three goals we hope to meet by the end of 2008:

1. To raise $50,000 in scholarship money for veterans currently attending CU-Boulder.

2. To start placing Class of 2008 vets in jobs ASAP

3. To organize a board to distribute scholarship money by August.

Our next event will be a luncheon in Denver, tentatively scheduled for March. Colorado First Lady Jeannie Ritter has been invited to speak about mental health issues related to veterans. Once we have the dates firmly in hand we’ll let everyone know!
