Admissions Activities Calendar

Campus Visit Programs are offered year-round. Send Students to Freshman Visits for more information on our visit programs.

August

  • This is a good time to review the materials you receive from CU-Boulder so you’ll be prepared to talk with prospective students. You may be asked to represent the university at fall college fairs as early as September.
  • In August, a view book, including an application and financial aid and scholarship information, is mailed to all prospective high school seniors and transfer students. Applications are delivered or mailed to all Colorado high schools.

September/October/November/December

  • We begin processing applications for the following summer or fall.
  • Representatives from the admissions office travel throughout their regions to meet with prospective students and their parents.
  • Encourage students to visit campus and attend any CU- Boulder admissions events that might be held in their schools or communities.
  • Fall preview programs are hosted in hotels throughout the country.
  • Fall College Fairs are held around the country. You may be asked to represent the university.
  • Admissions staff begin making decisions.

January

  • Students begin filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Application review and decisioning continue.

February/March

  • Operation Confirm begins. This is a time to congratulate accepted students and respond to their questions.
  • Wait-list review begins in mid- to late March.

April/May

  • By early April, all freshman applicants receive admission decisions.
  • Spring receptions are held throughout the country.
  • Spring college fairs are held around the country. You may be asked to represent the university.
  • Spring semester ends and CU-Boulder graduation ceremonies are held (no tours or information sessions are held the three weeks following graduation).

June/July/August

  • Summer Send-Offs are planned and held.
  • New students and their families are invited to campus for orientation and registration sessions.
  • Important Dates
  • September 1: We begin accepting and processing applications for the following spring, summer, and fall terms.
  • October 1: Freshman and transfer application priority date for spring semester. Admission staff begin making decisions.
  • January 1: Students begin filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • January 15: Freshman application priority date for summer and fall terms.
  • April 1: Transfer application priority date for summer and fall terms.
  • May 1: Freshman confirmation deadline. Admitted freshmen must respond to the offer of admission by this date if they intend to enroll. This is a national reply date.
  • June 1: Transfer confirmation deadline.
  • June/July/August: Orientation and registration sessions.
