A highlight are the featured university speakers.Dinners with entertainment are a part of the weekend. There is always free time available for members to enjoy the area.
Winter Meeting – one afternoon/evening
Held in the Denver metropolitan area, this meeting features speakers from the university faculty and administration. A reception and dinner is held so that members can mingle, make new friends and renew ties with old ones.
Spring Arts Event – one evening
Various performing and fine arts entertainment, from opera to jazz, theater to dance, highlight every spring arts event. Socializing and a light dinner are included.
Football Pregame at Koenig Alumni Center
This event begins with a reception and buffet at Koenig. After the social event, friends and members of the club walk over to Folsom stadium to cheer for the Buffs at their first home football game.
Other programs:
Scholarships
The club is proud to annually sponsor two or three students with scholarships. The scholarship fund was increased significantly in 2007 to enable the awarding of more scholarships to deserving students at every level of their studies at CU. The Scholarship Committee is always impressed with those applying for these awards.
Teacher Recognition Awards
The Directors Club has worked with The Herd, the student arm of the Alumni Association, to recognize outstanding professors on the Boulder campus. The winners are given a monetary award and public recognition.
Other projects
The Directors Club provided funds for a new computer system at the Heritage Center. Members of the club also raised funds to refurbish the flagpole on top of Old Main. In addition, the club reviews projects submitted by the Alumni Association or the University of Colorado in need of assistance. To become a Directors Club member, go here
