Honor a CU alum, faculty or staff member by nominating worthy candidates for the 2012 Alumni Association awards. They will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 1 to kickoff Back to Boulder Weekend. The nomination deadline is Friday, March 23.

An asylum gives hope

It’s dawn on New Year’s Day, and I’m crossing the border just west of Ciudad Juárez (Juarez City), Mexico. In the semi-darkness I can see the silhouettes of five soldiers at the checkpoint. Fortunately, they don’t stop me and inspect my car. Read more.

Athletics

Leeds alumnus gives big to mentoring

The Leeds School of Business is raising funds for an endowment to support mentoring programs that connect undergraduates brimming with knowledge to professionals with real-world experience. The program received a significant boost from Gordon Trafton (Bus’77), a Leeds alumnus who knows firsthand the value of mentoring.
