Dear Alum,
I’m excited about the plethora of non-football events and programs that the Alumni Association has been sponsoring or helping out with recently.
In this issue there’s the Hispanic Alumni Association’s Chile Open Golf Tournament, Cafe Scientifique for erudite discussions, our ongoing Roaming Buffaloes trips around the world, a journalism school get-together in Chicago and an invitation to volunteer at the Alumni Association.
We really love to run your stories and photos in Buffalum Notes — send them to Marc Killinger. If you’ve moved or changed e-mail addresses, let us know. And don’t forget, you can always find the latest CU happenings at www.cualum.org.

Alums cycle for scholarships
By Clint Talbott (Jour’85)
On a fundraising ride for Children’s Hospital six years ago, Woody Eaton (DistSt’62) and Todd Gleeson, CU-Boulder arts and sciences dean, wondered why they couldn’t launch a bicycling event to fund scholarships at CU-Boulder.
Since then, their conception has become the Buffalo Bicycle Classic, which has raised $800,000 for scholarships that go to good students who need the money. It is the single largest source of scholarships within the College of Arts and Sciences, which is the largest and oldest college at the university.
